Had an early Sunday dinner at The Grill with a friend after nearly twenty years since my last visit. As always, it's a great room and the service is impeccable. Most of the menu is old school steakhouse fare and doesn't disappoint. The drinks are great, and the wines offered by the glass are excellent. We enjoyed sitting in a comfortable booth with enough noise for a lively ambiance, but not so much that we couldn't talk. Returned during the week a few weeks later for a very early dinner with my adult daughter and her young baby. We were welcomed and treated so well by Richard despite the baby mess we created. Lobster salad was great and the Eastsider cocktails were dangerously good!!

This is the best place to go with family or friends for a beautiful lunch with delicious food and excellent service! The Dover Sole is fantastic! Each time I visit LA I make sure to stop in just for the Dover Sole and a quick cocktail. My sister, mother and Aunt have been known go out of their way to schedule layovers in LA just for a nice dinner there.

Run, don't walk, to the Grill on the Alley. Best pot pies, salads and desserts in town. If it's your lucky day, they will have the beef pot pie available as well as the chicken pot pie. Both are huge! But so good. The vibe is definitely more business than casual. The service is fantastic.. Go now and enjoy!

Food: 4 stars - solid steak, very nicely grilled. After all, the name says 'the Grill,' and it did not disappoint. And who wouldn't like a great steak with onion rings! Service: 5 stars - servers in uniform, very professional, attentive, east coast vibe. Ambiance: 5 stars - very spacious, not too noisy where you can have a conversation. Again, east coast vibe of a steakhouse. One wish - I wish the fries were a little thinner. Overall, solid.

It's a New Year! With a new attitude! And an updated Yelp review! I've returned to "The Grill On The Alley" several times since my 'less than perfect' experience in November of 2023. I wrote about that here and there is no change nor a retraction to what I wrote previously. I stand by my words and my thoughts from that one-time experience. I'll try to keep this updated review relatively short. I never want to appear to be negative nor vindictive in any way. However, that should not be confused with my desire to be as honest and transparent as I possible. I would like to share some updates because a few months have passed and I am now more of a fan than ever. I still love the place, the staff, the food and the eclectic crowd that dines there. "'One bad apple does not spoil the barrel" I took two good friends to "The Grill" this evening. It was their first visit to the restaurant. They recently moved to LA and are slowly making the rounds to visit many of the 'cool' and 'upscale' restaurants in the area. They are a sophisticated, global, bright, stylish and witty couple (almost as much as me) and could not have enjoyed themselves more. I ended up looking like a superstar because of their experience on their premiere visit. I tried making reservations yesterday on 'Open Table' but the only reservations available were at 6: 00 pm or earlier or 8:30 pm or later. Ugh. My friends can be somewhat specific (also known as 'picky') in what they like. I knew they would prefer something around 7:00 pm so I took a chance and called the restaurant directly. I spoke with Ben. He's one of the charming and professional hosts that you first encounter upon entering the restsurant. Upon identifying myself I could tell he remembered me. Ugh! I wasn't sure if that was going to work for or against me when asking for one of the more coveted Saturday night times. He was super polite and asked if 7:30 pm for three would work. Yes! And when we arrived he showed us to one of the amazing booths against the back wall. "You become what you dwell upon!" So what am I dwelling upon right now? Tonight's awesome dinner with my two close friends in Beverly Hills at "The Grill On The Alley". After a fun and delicious dinner with awesome seating at a perfect time and upon noticing how EVERY staff member encountered contributed to the overall success, I was compelled to update this review. In closing, I'll be back! Of course I will be on my best behavior because I want to mirror and reflect the same kindness, respect, positive energy and attention to detail that I have been shown of late.

Came here with my coworkers and some clients and had a great time. It was a little bit confusing finding the place (it really is in an alley) but it looked great inside! Very fancy and we got a big table for our group of 12. We had two servers to assist and they were both great and attentive. The food was delicious and each course we had everyone loved. No one had any complaints about their food and everyone said they would come again!

The gentleman with the English accent nailed the pinnacle of customer service. I will never forget how engaging, attentive, caring, and charming his service was. He deserves to serve at the highest rated Michelin Star restaurants! Give this man a raise! Oh, the food was pretty good too. It was my first time having John Dory. The flesh was firm, flaky, and very pleasant for my palette. I would recommend it if you're looking for fish as a protein.

This place is timeless. Wound up stopping in for lunch with 3 friends. Haven't been here in years but it hasn't changed a bit. Classic high end lunch spot with mid day martinis ever flowing from table to table. Our server Ross made the meal run effortlessly. The lobster salad and steak tartare are worthy of particular mention but you can't go wrong with anything. It's always an interesting crowd and has a fun lunchtime buzz.
